The Farnsworth House is located approximately
58 miles southwest of Chicago in Plano, Illinois along the Fox River. Click one of the following directions to the site:

Travel north on I-55.

Option A:  In Bloomington take I-39 (US-51) going north. Exit US-34 east to Plano (30 miles). Travel to Sandy Bluff Road (between Gjovik Auto Mall dealerships) and turn right.  Travel to Millhurst Road and turn left. Travel Millhurst Road until it ends, turn left on to Fox River Drive for 75 feet then right on River Road. Follow the black chain link fence on your right for ½ mile until the first open gate at the Farnsworth House Visitor Center.

Option B:  Continue in I-55. Next exit IL-47 north toward Yorkville. Look for River Street just after the bridge over the Fox River in Yorkville. Turn left onto River Street/River Road. Drive west to the Farnsworth House Visitor Center.

The Farnsworth House is approximately 169 miles northeast from Springfield. Travel time is approximately 3 hours depending on traffic conditions.
